CAUTION: Long Entry!

My laptop is so incredibly out of commission but I have lots of things to hold you over in case you were waiting to hear about the posts I promised the last post around!

BAND UPDATES:

First of all, Merry Christmas to all! How was yours? Now, I know the blog has been kind of dead for awhile but I'm getting back into the swing of things. You've probably missed the guys while we have been keeping you all out of the loop, but a ton has been going on during our e-hiatus. Countless Hours has been a band of busy bees, in case you haven't noticed via the myspace. Most of their time has been spent practicing, recording their EP (all six songs are now available for listening on MySpace), and preparing for their upcoming show at The Canyon Club on January 8th. It's so close now! I can't even believe it.

At the moment, it's currently our Winter Break and though it's not really straight from the horse's mouth, I have a bit of an idea here and there about what the guys themselves have been doing besides the band (and if I didn't have an idea, I made it up =D):

Over Thanksgiving, Aaron enjoyed some tan time in the tropics of Hawaii and is currently spending time with family up at 10,000 feet in the Colorado Rockies. You can bet he's getting his fill of snowboarding in, let's just hope he doesn't hurt himself this time =P {Psssst...Rumor has it he's using his Christmas money to save up for something special.}

Tyler recently got back last week or so from his own escapade in the Hawaiian Islands with family for Winter relaxation. Hmm, I wonder if either of our beloved guitarists bothered to pick up a ukelele and melt some faces at the beach? He also got this pretty sweet hat for Christmas.

Ryan Metier needs to get his wisdom teeth out! Uh ohhz! Stay tuned, he hasn't made the appointment yet but he told me he's a bit timid about it. Since I'm unsure as to what he received for Christmas, I'd love to tell you what I got him. It would ruin the surprise though (my presents are coming in a week or so, I online shopped late ^_^), he might lurk the blog and see.

Meanwhile, Mitch has been adjusting quite well to the band. I've been having fun getting to know the kid through practices and his little visit to my Christmas party last weekend. Just as an excited little sidenote, he even gave me a two second drum lesson, fun stuff. Last I heard he's been lounging around our hometown, and spent Christmas with family and friends. He was pretty excited about his presents. Oh yeah, and he misses his bffl Aaron dearly (goes both ways though, I've heard from both of them about it!)

it really doesn't get cuter than that as far as best friends go.

The elusive Bob Lamm has been so far the most difficult for me to get a hold of, but Bob has actually been recovering from a knee surgery! He's doing alright though, it's no big deal. You can send well wishes his way via the band myspace. OH, and he received a new bass that should be shiny and pretty to play for the Jan. 8th show. =]
BLOG UPDATES:

Working into the wee hours of the morning, I just uploaded a bunch of videos that I've collected over the past month (and will continue uploading videos from now on) for your viewing pleasure on the CH YouTube Channel! All the guys have access to it and I'm going to attempt to get them to start posting their own stuff at will on top of the random shenanigans that I happen to catch on camera when they're not paying attention (or at least acting like they're not paying attention). This isn't even the half of it, more is coming very soon!

&& along with this nifty new house of fun comes new features for the blog!

  • The most recently uploaded videos will now be available for viewing on the right side of the blog under Countless Videos. You don't even have to leave the page to watch 'em! Seriously, click a video, go try it!
  • I also set up the YouTube to feed into the blog so that as new things get uploaded, the blog will automatically update itself with a new post of the video. How groovy is that?
To make space for the YouTube gadget, I got rid of the tagboard on the right side of the page. It was becoming a spam-hassle anyway. If you want to let us know something, go ahead and leave a comment instead (link at the bottom of the entry!)

Peace easy!

Oh whoa, two months...

Hey guys! I know it's been two months since you last heard about Countless Hours, and I apologize for that, but things have been really hectic roundabouts here. There's tons of exciting things going on with the band at the moment and I promise a full on recap of everything that's happened since Flashrock Live coming soon! Including:
  • The Benefit Concert - Video footage, photos and I'll tell you exactly what went down.

  • Practice w/ Countless Hours- Ever wonder what sort of shenanigans go on when no one's watching?

  • In the Studio - I observe as the band goes in to record In the Sky and Something New.
Oh! Now for the real news. CH just booked a show at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills on Thursday, January 8, 2009! Be extra nice to your parents so they'll let you out on a school night! =]

This one could be really important for the guys, so please show up and bring your friends!

For tickets, holler at us over at the myspace (we get credit for every ticket we sell), or I guess you could get them from Ticketmaster (but why would you wanna deal with those extra charges?)

Be on the lookout for more to come!

I'm too excited to stay quiet about this.

Irony of my life! Yesterday, right after promising things would pick up with the band, what do you know. The boys delivered. =]

Last night, a furious flurry of IMs flew my way (hahahaha say that ten times fast) from Tyler, Aaron and Ryan. The band must've had a really productive practice last Saturday, because they were all stoked on upcoming new developments. I'm not at liberty to say exactly what, but let's just say that it's more than enough to make up for the month or so that there hasn't been much going on. I'm bursting with excitement because it makes me really happy when they come to me all worked up about what's up next.

[DISCLAIMER: I'm staying a bit vague, I wanted to blog about this but everything is still kind of in speculation. So I don't want to provide misinformation.]

Here's what I can tell you about for sure:
  • There's a new song in the works! Tyler says it's definitely on par with Just Coincidence. Aaron says it's quite possibly their best yet.

  • New shows are currently in the process of booking, so get your calendars ready.

  • Vote and you shall receive! Countless Hours will be performing a live webcast for Flashrock Live on September 25th!

  • Is Countless Hours shopping for a new look?

Stay tuned!

99 TO GO!

Countless Hours is in the home stretch to performing on Flashrock LIVE!

Some shameless CH Promotion

some shameless promotion on the We the Kings merch table - Photo Hosted at BuzznetWell, things are still a bit quiet on the CH front, but I thought this was good enough to share. I went to Warped Tour in Carson yesterday (so much fun!) and actually found some time to promote the band. I tipped the We The Kings merch guy and got to write on the table. =) Who knows, maybe a few people will end up checking it out.

Really haven't heard much from the guys lately, but I just had a short conversation with one Ryan Metier. He tells me he's been working on some publicity efforts, no idea what exactly though.

Things will pick up again soon, promise!

Happy August!

New Layout!

Hasn't been an update in awhile, but in case you haven't noticed already, I gave the blog a makeover on Friday! =)

The layout had been a bit outdated for awhile and I originally intended to wait for new promo pictures to redesign, but I got a bit restless since there hasn't been much activity. I'm satisfied, it matches the myspace. What do you think?

Enjoy the product of my summertime boredom!

What's up with Countless Hours?!

Well, since the boys are hard at work perfecting their music, Rose and I thought we would give you a little update on the blog:

1) We've added a labels section to the navigation! So now you can find older posts by a means other than the date it was posted. We've got them sorted by band member, by news, by shows, so check that out and tell us if you like it.

2) FACELIFT! The blog will be under going some visual renovations soon, so bear with us as Rosalie works her html magic and makes a new layout.

3) Did you remember to vote on flashrock? 118 to go!

Oh, and the two of us have some surprises around the corner for you all... So keep your eyes opened for some special posts. ;)

New Songs! New Myspace!

After hard work in the studio, the final cut of the recordings came in last Friday. Rumor has it that this EP is going to be legit with snazzy packaging and all.

Stoked!

The songs that were recorded are now posted up on the CH myspace!

1] Just Coincidence
2] Second Chances
3] No More

To celebrate, I gave the band's myspace page a facelift. I think it's pretty neat-o.

-RC
P.S. Janaye's back in town!!! YAY! This'll be my last post until she whisks off somewhere else for the summer.

If the myspace player that I posted doesn't work, head over to the myspace page for a listen.

Like what you hear?

12 July 2008 - Ventura Theater

Countless Hours officially has another show under their belt, and congratulations to Tyler for a successful first show ever!

Big ups to John and SoCal Musician for booking this one.

I had been told in the days leading up to the show that this was going to be an epic one. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. The boys HEADLINED it.

In the absence of dear Janaye, I stood in our usual spot front-center and tried to rock out twice as hard, channeling her spirit. Hopefully I did her proud.

As for Countless Hours, they rocked harder, sounded better, and from what I saw last night, I know for a fact that they are only going to improve. Of course, there were a few rough spots here and there due to some new additions and some "environmental issues", but Ryan, Aaron, Tyler, Bob and Hunter handled it like true pros and these rough spots hardly affected the show as a whole. Overall, it was definitely their most enjoyable performance yet! They even got some compliments from the Ventura Theater sound guys *le gasp!*. Friends, Fans and Band Members alike all walked out happily that night.

OH! One more thing. It was a tasty surprise when they didn't end with Second Chances (formerly known as All In)
like before, but instead closed their set with a new one! The new song is called Never Change and features a dual guitar solo. Yes indeedy, Tyler gets one and then Aaron gets one. Not gonna lie, I peed a little when that happened.

And of course, can't wait to hear the finished product of their upcoming EP. Which, I've been told, is shaping up really well.

If you missed this one, don't worry, you'll make it to the next one!

Looking forward to the future.

No video. The video we received was pretty crappy. Oh well.

P.S. Have you heard Just Coincidence (rough cut) yet?!? If not, check it out! The boys are open to constructive criticism that you can leave for them on their myspace blog.

P.P.S. Vote on flashrock. Duh.

WELL!? If you were there, what did you think?
Let the boys know directly on the myspace.

Update!

Just some quickies that I thought should be noted today:
  • One week until CH gets in the studio! (7/8 and 7/10)

  • Upcoming show on July 12 at The Majestic Ventura Theatre. Be there or be square. It's a monumental one since this is Tyler's first show.

  • Happy Birthday to Aaron J. Chambers ! The guitarist extraordinaire turned 17 today.

  • You voted on flashrock right? 351 votes down, and [I'm too lazy to do the math] to go!
Peace.

First Official Studio Date!

Our dearest Janaye is going on a short hiatus, frolicking through Europe and what-not for the summer and has no access to a computer, so I (Rosalie) will be doing some guest correspondence for CH as we await her return, just to keep you guys in the know. I wouldn't want anyone to miss anything exciting. So bear with me, I'm new to this whole band blogging thing.

Okay. As you've known or could assume, Countless Hours has been trying to get into the studio to record their new stuff. Well, I was having a casual sort of chat with Aaron tonight and he told me that they've set a first recording date for July 7th July 8th and 10th. That's two weeks from now, kiddos! I got all happy in the pants and just had to post. You should get excited too because according to him,
"this little demo thing is gonna destroy."

Hm. While I'm here I might as well tell you that the boys are also planning on another promo photo shoot (for which a date has not yet been set, but it should be soon) in which newest member Tyler Tardiff will be included in the sexiness. HA. I can't wait to get them into Photoshop and start playing. Which means updated blog layout, new bio blends, and *le GASP* a new myspace layout?

Summer's definitely looking good, kids.

25 April 2009- Rock City Studios

ROCK CITY STUDIOS- FRIDAY, APRIL 25

Well now, on Friday, Countless Hours played alongside The Atrocities and Cupcake. Big shout out to John from SoCal Musician for setting up the show!

Beforehand, Hunter and I were at Aaron's place, and the two of them were fooling around with some chord progressions, etc etc. Aaron is fiddling with some John Petrucci stuff currently. The two of them figured out some really cool sounding guitar stuff, so listen for a new song.

The show was great; all of the Cupcake fans were wonderful, so props to you guys for clapping along and staying for the set.
Look for a benefit concert and battle of the bands coming up, as well as some other neat things.

Hasta Luego!

12 April 2008- VENTURA THEATER

For all those who missed the show, you missed out! And for all those who made it, you witnessed the first ever Countless Hours show, and I'm pretty sure you were all damn impressed.
Last night was a birthday celebration for Ryan "Picnic" Metier. Yes, it is true. Ryan is finally 18, so the guys hired a professional photographer and a professional to take video for the show. They captured the whole set, and I'll have some of that available for you guys soon.
Anyways, CH rocked the house.... even if the crowd was a majority of skinheads/punks, the front barricade was filled with friends and fans [and yours truely got in trouble for headbanging too hard, hah hah...].

Happy Birthday, Picnic!
Great job last night, CH!

Cheers,

Quick Update:

Long time no post! Just to keep everyone updated, let me tell you about some things going on with Countless Hours right now:

1) Show at the Ventura Theater [12 April] with Oedipus has NOT been canceled. We ARE rescheduling a show with Oedipus, but we WILL be playing with GiGi Elvis at the Ventura Theater, so message us about tickets! And keep your eyes open for a Benefit Concert coming up [Details will be posted].
2) Aaron had a little snow boarding accident in Colorado over Spring Break... no worries though! Spent a few days in the hospital and now he's back on track and in California. Drop him a line, wish him well, whatever on the band page or on his personal myspace.
3) RYAN METIER TURNS 18! Get your fill, fan girls, because he's going to be LEGAL soon! I'm sure there will be a birthday bash, and lots of pictures/video, so there will be a blog soon.

Not much news, really. Still looking into studio time.
Updates later, as soon as there are some.

10 Feb 2008- Listening Party

A more bomb time has not been had.
Tonight, Countless Hours performed their new songs for the first time ever. This was the first time I had even heard these, so this was a big fucking deal.
There were probably ten people there, besides the band [feel totally blessed if you were there; this is going down in history] and our job was to listen to the songs, and decide which one would make the best single.
It was a five song set, and I only know the names of four of them:
Together, Called By Force, Full Force, and Lost Again.
I actually have all of Picnic's lyric notes here, and i think the fifth one was Remember, so scratch that. I jacked the lyrics off the table at the end of the night. Unfortunately, I have to return them tomorrow, but hey, anything to make the blog more legit. I'll scan them and post them up later, once I get his permission.
Note: Picnic is the nickname of Ryan Metier. Maybe I'll post a blog about how he got that nickname. You could always ask him. Anyways, he has really messy writing. There was a rendition of "Solo" and "Slither", just for old time's sake. They actually played "Slither" in a more metal fashion... Ryan left the room, Hunter took over vocals, Mitch Feldmann came out on drums, and people didn't know wtf was going on. Brilliant.
People went to Tony's Pizza afterwards. Hunter, Aaron, and I [well, more of them than me] cleaned up and put all the gear away. I actually came home. I'll lie and tell you it was to write this.
So. They have a single in mind to record, and that's going to happen relatively soon. I'll keep everyone updated as to what's going down. After all, that's what I'm here for.

09 Feb 2008- Promotional Photo Shoot

The only people I would ever get out of bed for at 7:50 in the morning are my boys in Countless Hours.
Bob, Aaron, and Hunter called me, and told me to get out of bed. I was being kidnapped two hours earlier than planned. I get out the door by 8:00AM and we get ourselves energy drinks at Albertson's. Hunter gave up "caffeinated beverages" for lent. He really loves Jesus, this guy needs two Monster in the morning to get to ASB on time.
Anyways.
We dilly dally around Aaron's house, and I get to do hair and pick outfits. Aaron actually picked his own clothes, I just added the necklace, which is his sister's london coin. Thank you, Katie.
By 10:oo, we leave for the Ventura Pier.
Note: It is the most gorgeous california winter day ever. A sweet seventy degrees, and I'm with my favorite band in the world at the beach. Nothing really beats this.
We leave the pier around twelve and get ourselves some Habit. Bob Lamm gets kudos for buying me french fries. Hunter takes us to the park by his house, and it is incredibly scenic. I mean, completely gorgeous. The pictures turned out great. And we all had a totally bomb time.

Check out their favourites here.
